David Conrad played Jim Clancy from season one to season five of Ghost Whisperer.

Biography[]

David Crawford Conrad was born in 1967 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His father is an engineer and his mother is a librarian; he has two older brothers.[1]

In 1989, at age 22, he earned a degree in Russian/Slavic history from Brown University.[1] A year after completing his degree, he enrolled in the acting program at Julliard, but left in his final year to pursue an acting career.[2]

David was in a relationship with his fellow Julliard student Sandy Stanton from 1991 to 1997.[1]

Career[]

David began his career in 1993, with an appearance in the feature film Under Heat. He began appearing in television series a few years later.

He is best known for his roles in the 2005 film Wedding Crashers and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

In 2008, he directed a documentary called "Tamas", about the life of one of his former boarding school teachers, Tamas Szilagyi.[3]

More recently, he has transitioned into theatre, starring in plays like Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are DeaderRichard II and Henry V.[4]

Notes and Trivia[]

  • David also played a medical professional in the 2003 film Anything Else; his character's name was Dr. Phil Reed.
  • He and Jennifer Love Hewitt  have both appeared as guest stars on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, although in different seasons.
  • In 2019, he began teaching as a guest artist at Shakespeare's Globe theatre in London.[5] He described the opportunity as "a dream come true".[6]
